BRAZILIAN NUT
Brazil nut, also known in Brazil as chestnut is a species native to the high forests of the Brazilian, Bolivian and Peruvian Amazon. In Peru, the department dedicated to the collection of the chestnut is Mother of God. The importance of the nut is not only in its contribution to the economy thanks to the export, but for its ecological component in the preservation of the Amazon rainforest, since its exploitation allows to stop the predation of the forests.
The seeds contain almonds that are the most useful component and economic value, with high nutritional value, comparable to beef in the quantity and quality of amino acids presented. It can be consumed naturally or as an ingredient in a wide variety of sweets and delicacies.
